Jordan Hasay Withdraws from Team USATF for IAAF World Half Marathon Championships

By Adam Kopet

When the top half-marathoners in the world toe the line Saturday in Valencia, Spain, for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, American Jordan Hasay will not be there.

The IAAF noted in a story retraction for the women's race preview that Hasay had withdrawn.

David Monti of Race Results Weekly confirmed Hasay is out of the race, citing a tight plantar.

The women's race has had several top athletes withdraw, including the second-fastest woman ever over the distance, Fancy Chemutai of Kenya. However, the world record holder, Joyciline Jepkosgei, also of Kenya, is still entered.
