Boit, Bersagel Lead U.S. World Half SelectionPublished by
Team USA Announced for IAAF World Half Marathon ChampionshipsTen athletes will represent Team USA at the IAAF/AL Bank World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, March 29, USATF announced today. The roster is highlighted by Josphat Boit who finished third at the USA Half Marathon Championships 1:01:49, while Tyler Pennel was fourth in 1:01:44 and Matthew Llano crossed the line in fifth (1:01:47). Lauren Kleppin was the runner-up in this year’s USA Half Marathon Championships, finishing in 1:12:12. Caitlin Comfort also turned in a podium finish in Houston, crossing in 1:12:16 to solidify her spot on the World team. Annie Bersagel is competing in her first event of the year but finished 2013 on a high note, winning the 2013 USA Women’s Marathon Championship (2:30:53) and taking a top-10 finish in the inaugural .US National Road Racing Championships (12k - 40:26). Competition begins at 6:30 a.m. ET with the women’s half marathon, while the men’s race begins at 6:55 a.m. ET.
