Farah, Kamworor and Cherono Lead Top EntriesBy Scott Bush This Saturday, March 26, Team USA takes to the streets of Cardiff, Great Britain, as the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships get underway. Both the men's and women's field are loaded with talent. Mo Farah (GBR), reigning champion Geoffrey Kamworor (KEN) and Stanley Biwott (KEN) lead the men, while the Kenyan trio of reigning champion Gladys Cherono, Florence Kiplagat and Mary Keitany lead the women. Headlining Team USA is recent third place finisher at the Olympic Marathon Trials Jared Ward, who is joined by Jim Spisak, Ben Bruce, Tim Ritchie and Scott Bauhs on the men's side. The women's side is led by Olympic Marathon Trials fifth place finisher Janet Bawcom and sixth place finisher Kellyn Taylor, along with Sara Hall, Brianne Taylor and Hillary Montgomery. In 2014, the last time the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships took place, the American women placed fifth overall, while the men placed seventh.
